With an eclectic mix of students, professionals and musicians, midtown downtown
Nashville is filled with many of Nashville's most popular nightclubs, restaurants
and shops. It's a small drive away from Vanderbilt and Belle Meade and is
readily accessible to interstates. Joggers run down West End Avenue from
dawn until midnight and the street is bustling with commuters coming to dine,
take in a hockey game or concert or go to Centennial Park.
With a large African-American population, Edgehill is one of Downtown Nashville's
most diverse neighborhoods. It's near Music Row, West End and Belmont. Victorian
homes along tree-lined streets attract a lot of music business types and
the proximity to Belmont and Vanderbilt University makes Edgehill home to
many students.
In the last several years, city planners and developers have been coaxing
people to move downtown. From relatively inexpensive apartments to luxury
high-rise apartments, downtown also offers an interesting mix of people.
If you live downtown, you can walk to a concert at Riverfront Park, a honky-tonk
on Lower Broad and maybe even to work. Plus, the area offers some of the
best police protection in the city.
