Pleasant View is a community that is great if you are looking for a place
to settle with your family. The Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department hosts
a parade and picnic each year. Hundreds of people throughout the region enjoy
the festivities and community spirit.
Residents take pride in Pleasant View Elementary School. It is one of the
best schools in the surrounding Nashville suburbs. Pleasant View Elementary
consistently ranks as one of the top academic schools in the state.
The city is governed by a five-member Board of Mayor and Aldermen, headed
by Mayor Shane Ray. Pleasant View also has its own civitan group that was
founded in 2000 and has over 30 members. The word civitan comes from "civitas" which
means citizenship in Latin. The group was founded to help to make Pleasant
View a better community through their service to the people of Pleasant
View.
Take a walk down the Cheatham County Bicentennial Trail. The trail is located
along the Cumberland River, in Ashland City and right on the edge of Pleasant
View. Open from sunrise to sunset the trail is one of the most enjoyable
nature trips you will take. Ride your bike, walk, jog, horseback ride, and
view nature in one of the most beautiful settings in Tennessee. If that doesn't
strike your fancy there are plenty of boats in the Pleasant View area you
can charter, and travel along the Cumberland River.
